Innovations and new ideas that save time, work and money - in organic weed control, plant support and protection, composting, land use and even manure use. And a critical look at green thinking and policies, Green: 'immature, unsophisticated, or gullible.'

You can read about new ideas in the use of beds, including raised beds, and about how to make the beds into cloches and crop protection systems, all at next to no cost, by clicking here. The beds in this system are surrounded by free-standing boards, supported by stakes. These boards last for much longer than the fixed boards which rest on the soil in the usual system. They can be moved and rearranged very easily, giving great flexibility.

You can read about new ideas in composting by clicking here. These include a 'greenhouse composter' which speeds up compost production and extends the composting season by means of the greenhouse effect. This composting system too makes use of free-standing boards and gives vastly increased flexibility.

To read about a cold frame click here. The cold frame illustrates the flexibility of the system I use in a striking way. It can be constructed from basic components very easily and moved very easily.

I don't give here information about all my work in these fields. All my most recent work is excluded, apart from Manure: a new use and Cage, which describes a now kind of cage for plant protection. Again, this forms a flexible system, and it can protect a wide range of crops.

The design principles I use are versatile and the pages of this site demonstrate a few of the innovations I've made in Web design. To read about these, please click here. For much fuller information about Web design, click here. Some of the design principles are explained here.
